Stockholm Chamber Brass, one of the world’s leading brass ensembles, is delighted to invite applicants for their 5th Academy for Chamber Music. For over 30 years Stockholm Chamber Brass has helped develop brass quintet playing to the highest level around the world and they are now looking to help inspire both the next generation of brass ensembles and the next generation of composers.

Set in the unique and inspiring environment of Leksand, in the heart of Sweden, each group will have the time and space to hone their chamber playing and develop a strong vision for their ensemble.

The course will include chamber music coaching, concerts for each participating group, individual masterclasses and the opportunity to have a brand new piece written for each group!

The course is open to all brass chamber music groups as well as individual participants who have a particular interest in chamber playing. After initial applications are made a maximum of 5 chamber groups will be selected by Stockholm Chamber Brass to attend the Academy. The number of groups is limited so that the group that are selected are able to given the fullest experience from Stockholm Chamber Brass.

After it's hugely successful launch in 2018 we are absolutely delighted to continue our SCB Academy Composers Course.  5 composers who will have the opportunity to study with leading composer, Cathy Milliken, and work through the week with one of the academy ensembles on a new piece that will be performed at the end of the course.  For more information click here

The 2020 course will take place from the 1st - 10th August (arriving on 1st August, and departing FROM STOCKHOLM on the 10th August).
